Journal prompt for days dominated by revenge trading

Post by PropScalpDesk »

Prompt set I use when I already know the day was revenge-shaped:

- First revenge click time and what loss preceded it.
- Did soft-stop exist and was it ignored?
- Which rule I rewrote mid-session to justify the next ticket?
- What would "done for the day" have looked like one minute before the revenge chain?
- Tomorrow's one constraint that removes that path (earlier flatten, lower ticket cap, platform close).

I do not ask "why am I like this" in the journal. I ask what switch gets bolted down. Prop days that go revenge get an automatic next-day half-size rule. The prompt is useless without a bolt. Write the bolt while annoyed; implement it when calm the next morning.

Example from my own book: last month the chain started after a stop on GBPUSD at 08:12, and by 08:40 I had four tickets on with no written idea behind any of them. The bolt I chose was simple: after any full stop, the platform gets minimised for ten minutes. Annoying, but I have not repeated that morning since.

Your 08:12 example has the shape most of mine had, a normal stop followed by a chain that cost more than the stop did. One prompt I added splits the day's loss into the part before the first revenge click and the part after it.

On my worst days the second number was usually two or three times the first. Seeing that on paper did more for me than any line about patience.

The minimised platform bolt is a good one, with a gap I found the hard way. The phone app was still logged in, so the ten minutes turned into trading from the sofa, and now the app stays logged out on weekdays until the session ends.

For the done for the day question, I stopped answering it in hindsight and wrote the answer in advance. Two full stops before 10:00 London ends my morning, whatever the setups look like afterwards.

On the next day half size rule, does it last one day or until a clean day? Mine runs until the first session with no rule breaks, because one half size day after a revenge morning was sometimes a revenge morning at half size.

PropScalpDesk, the mid-session rule rewrite prompt is the one that still surprises me on paper. I force a one line quote of the rule I changed, copied from the card, next to the revenge click time.

Most of my chains started with soft stop ignored, then a quiet rewrite of the ticket cap from three to five. Naming the rewrite made the bolt obvious: the cap goes back to three and becomes a hard platform block, not a note.

Soft stop ignored now has its own automatic flag from the deals export. If cumulative loss passes 2R and a new ticket still opens, the day is already revenge-shaped before I feel it.

Tomorrow's constraint I write while annoyed, as you say, but I pick from a fixed menu: earlier flatten, lower ticket cap, or platform close. Free text bolts were too easy to soften the next morning.

The half size until clean day rule answered itself in my journal. One half size revenge morning taught me clean means zero rule breaks and zero soft stop touches, not merely a green day.

Do you log the rewritten rule as a separate field, or only inside the free text prompt answers? A field is easier to count at month end.
