Documenting my journey as I trade a prop firm challenge account
Re: Documenting my journey as I trade a prop firm challenge account
Good day,
Let me start from when I got the account,(PART 1)
I got the account on Saturday at midnight around 11PM. I was a bit nervous
, I wanted to open a position immediately but I cautioned myself.
I waited till Sunday morning before thinking about it again, as you well know, the forex market does not open on weekends so I decided to look at the crypto pairs, yes, crypto pairs you heard me right
.
Then I saw
this good looking setup on ETHUSD and decided to trade it using 0.5% of my capital, then I headed to my my funded account to activate my MT5 by on getting there I realized that the prop firm doesn’t have MT5, matchtrader or any other trading platform integrated.
To be honest I felt disappointed for a moment but then I said to myself that “I will not let this be a setback” so I went on to their own trading terminal
Anticipate part 2

PART 2
I went to check their own trading terminal and I couldn’t believe my eyes, I mean it was so bland, so plain, they didn’t even integrate trading view for their chart, they built it themselves which wasn’t cool at all as you can’t edit or check prices on there.
I knew I had no other choice but to keep going, so I went back to trading view to check if the prices are the same.
Unfortunately they weren’t, I had to add extra room for my stop loss so price wouldn’t take me out if ur gets too deep in the zone.
Finally, I was able to place my ETHUSD limit order so I patiently waited for it to fill, after a couple hours I checked back and found my greatest fear had already happened, yeah you guessed right
, I hit SL, not because the trade went bad but because the trade went too deep and my extra room wasn’t big enough to contain it.
I felt bad for a minute then decided to enter at market price and monitor the trade, guess what happened next…
, on entering the trade I was already at a 50% loss of the total amount I intended to risk on the trade, I knew I had to stop trading at that point since I already lost 2 trades in a row, yeah I closed on a loss immediately to avoid anymore complications.
All that happened Sunday after matket opened not upto 6 hours, I know it might sound like overtrading but trust me it is
.
I finally left the market and got some rest… to be continued
Part 3 incoming…
